Your travel is your business. RoamWise is built so that we never see your data at all. This policy covers RoamWise on iPhone and on Android, and it is short because there is almost nothing to disclose.
Nothing. RoamWise has no accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no analytics or advertising SDKs. We do not operate any server that receives your data.
RoamWise does not use your location. Trips are entered by hand. The app never reads GPS, never runs in the background to follow you, and never scans your photos. A border stamp is ground truth; we do not want or need your location. On Android the app requests no location, contacts, storage, or notification permission. Its only permissions are internet access and Google Play billing, both used solely for purchases.
On Android, the app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs. It does contain Google Play's billing library, which Google Play requires for in-app purchases. That library lets Google Play process and restore your purchases, and it also sends Google technical diagnostics about those purchase connections, such as whether a request to Google Play succeeded, so that Google can keep its billing service working. Google handles this under Google's own privacy policy, and it never includes your trips, passports, notes, or anything else you enter in RoamWise.
Everything you enter in RoamWise (your trips, passports, and notes) is stored on your device. On iPhone, if iCloud is available, your data is also stored in your personal, private iCloud database, encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. On Android, your data stays on the phone, and if Android backup is turned on it is included in your own Google account backup (Google Drive), encrypted by Google; your Pro purchase status is never copied between phones, it is always confirmed by Google Play. The home-screen widgets read a small copy of your trip dates that is kept on the device only. We have no access to any of it.
On iPhone, all purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple, through your App Store account, and you can cancel anytime in iOS Settings. On Android, they are processed entirely by Google Play, and you can cancel anytime in Google Play subscriptions. We receive no payment details on either platform.
You can export your full trip history as CSV at any time from Settings, free. On Android you can erase everything at any time with Settings > Delete all my data (this removes every trip and passport from the device and resets the app), or by uninstalling the app. On iPhone, erase everything by deleting the app and removing RoamWise data from iCloud in iOS Settings.
